Topic: question about saving picks on pod xt? |

Guys, how do you save your packages so all of them will be together. For instance, I have amp model line 6 clean, with cab model line 6 2x12, with analog delay on 2A(I think)
how do I get my next pick on 2B so they'll all be together?
And where do ya'll put your effects, mainly delay and comp, pre or post amp? thanks

| If the XT is anything like my older Pod, then you will have to go into each individual preset, choose the same amp, efffects, speaker cabs and whatnot and save them and then do the same thing again on the next preset . I might be wrong as I haven't used an Xt much yet. I use about 3 presets on mine, and the only differences are the echo and reverbs. |

| Please do not return it so fast. You need the software Line6 Edit. It is slicker than... A USB cable to your PODxt and poof all that stuff can be managed effortlessly. For changes on the fly press the buttons on the POD but manage them with the software. Try this link: http://www.customtone.com/FAQ.html#Install |

The Line 6 Edit program is one of the best editing programs I've seen for this type of unit. I only wish there had been something like that for the Transtube Fex units.
Although, as mentioned you can save your own programs easily on the POD, the Line 6 Edit program allows you to load them anyplace you want in the user memory area (and modify any parameter).
Bottom line, this is one of the most "user friendly" units around. If you can't operate this unit, don't even think about any other effect unit. |

| when you get a program the way you want it push save, then push the cursor botton under destination then use the tweak knob to select what posistion you want it to go to and push save again. Jeff |

I arrange all of the patches I customize with the Line 6 edit program. It couldn't be simpler. I wish the Tubefex I had would allow the same editing options.
It is easy and all of the sounds are 'backed up on the hard drive'

Ok I know how to save my patches now but I have another question. Somebody told me to set all my amp knobs on 0. I was wondering if I could set my amp knobs like I set them when playin through my amp, then if I wanted to switch from my pod settings back to just playin through my amp, how would I do that?

Terry,
To answer your original question:
After you hit "save the first time" it gives you the option of changing the location of the patch. After you assign the patch to the location you want, hit "save" again.
To answer your second question:
I have a patch saved that is the "no amp" setting where basically I'm just using the POD XT for the reverb and effects. On this setting the tone knobs are negated and all of your EQ control is on the amp.
Rather than set the amp eq's to "0", I set up the amp to the sound I like. I then tailor the POD settings to sound good through the EQ configuration I have dialed on the amp.
I setup my rig this way because I don't always bring the POD to gigs. And it helps keep the sound more consistant.
The POD XT is great. I wouldn't trade it for anything. |
