Is anyone using their NV112's with profex's? Is everyone using the preamp higain input or the power amp input and what are the opinions on this setup? Thanks Fred Rushing Odin IL |

You will probably get the best results by connecting the profex to the "post eq" send and return jacks on the front panel. The NV112 manual shows the various connection configurations. |

I think that would be a matter of the old "A/B" test. I have tried my Lexicon 110 in both loops but at different times. Therefore, it wasn't a good comparison but I can't say that I noticed any difference.
Peavey recommends that you connect the guitar to the HI input, the volume pedal to the pre eq loop and the effects to the post eq loop. I have not tried it this way.
Since the amplifier input impedance is ~50k ohms, I figured that I would get a better sound from my pickup by connecting it to the Hilton pedal and then into the amp input. But, again, I have done no subjective comparisons. When I get time, I will A/B these hook ups.
The good news is: I have not been able to get a bad sound from the Nashville 112. I am anxious to try it on an outdoor show to see if it has enough power to do the job without help from the PA system. |

Being something of a trogladyte, I've only been going straight to the input! This has made me think, and I'll try the alternatives at the next show.....

My rig works best with the Steel to vol to preamp to NV 112. I have a digitech 2101 tube pre with effects.

Thanks folks for your input. I have found time amd time again the way I like to hear my Emmons Legrande II played thru my profexII is connecting steel to vol pedal to FexII in and out to NV112 High gain input. I use only a few patches in the fexII. I like Larry Sasser A7 and A9 and the 65 emmons patch which is A55 I thank. I know the tone is not as clean this way but it is the sounds I seem to prefer day in and day out. I am trying real hard to play without any ProfexII but I don't know if I can get to that point or not. Thanks again Fred |
