Hi gang, I was wondering if you purchase your strings
as sets or order singles. I guess what I am after is....
where is the best deal ??
My other question is, Does any one know what tuning
Jr. Brown is useing on Hill Billy Hula Gal ???
I currently play A6 8 string. E A C# E F# A C# E.
Let me know. Thanks. Dan |

Hey Dan,
Junior Brown generally uses a C13 tuning. It's just a standard 8-string C6 tuning with the bottom string tuned to a flat-7: low to high: Bb C E G A C E G. Your A6 tuning would have identical intervals to this if you tuned your bottom string up to G. |

b0b has sets of Jagwire strings right here - good prices too. Just click on the STRINGS link at the top of the page and you'll find everything you need . .

Hi Guys,
Just to mention that I am now on my second
set of Jagwires (one set per year)and found
out last year that I can use a .014 gauge
on my top "G". This gives a thicker sound
than the former strings using only a .012
gauge without breaking.
My guitar is a Cougar D8 with a 24" scale.

For my Bakelite Rick I assemble a custom set of GHS Pure Nickel Wrap Semi-Flat Strings
I get them from JustStrings.com
http://www.juststrings.com/purenickelghsguitarsinglestrings.html
My gauges for C6 (lo-hi) .36 .30 .26 .24 .20(p) .18(p)
I use whatever plain strings are the cheapest.
