thanks again for the info.

This is a great sound system , in my opinion.
I played a friend's steel through his Walker Stero Steel system with JBL's and the processor in it, and I just loved the sound......al

I have a '94 G.D.Walker S.S.Pre-Amp that I use with an Alesis QuadraVerb and the power amp sections of my two Peavey Nashville 1000's.w/BW speakers. That's what I'll be using next Sat. at the DSSG&MA Show in Gulfport, Ms. at 12:00 Noon. Everyone's invited to come to the VFW in Gulfport from 11 am 'til unconcious! ...as the technology has developed through the years I have tried "most" of them....and my conclusion is that the Stereo-Steel amp is the best of the bunch.....and Gerry Walker is not paying me to indorse his product......he rides a Goldwing and I ride a Harley! www.genejones.com

I ride a Harley too, and also think the GD's amps are the best and the most versatile!

It is a great sound, best customer service you could imagine. If you haven't played through one of these at home or on stage, you haven't heard your steel sound the best it can be. Believe me I've tried most and this is what I hear as the best sound.

I've had one for about 6 months now and it is really great.
The stereo Effects loops, Lo-Z outs, and AUX in's, make it a really versatile tool.
For me it's like having a complete 200W per side P.A. in a 2 space, 13lb, unit.
I run my vocals and rhythm tracks through it in addition to steel.
Mine has the pull-out knob on the Presence control for extra brightness, which I use to enhance the low notes when doing Travis style fingerpicking.
Excellent!

One other thought...
I bought mine used and it is a '96 model.
The Aux in's are 1/4" jacks, which I understand is a custom order option, otherwise they are RCA in's.
I personally favor the 1/4" jacks for the Aux in's because you can pump all kinds of stuff in there like a mixer, or other instruments.
For example, I run a guitar cable from our guitar players setup into an aux-in which gives me basically a controlable monitor of what the guitar player is playing (we usually setup on opposite sides of the drums). I think this helps (me) with overall band intonation.

Hey Pete, that's a great idea! Radio Shack sells an adapter to go from 1/4" to RCA for those of us unfortunate owners without the mod.

Yeah, I have the radio shack 1/4" to RCA adapters for when I'm just using a Walkman for rhythm tracks at home (I thought it might be worth mentioning the 1/4" Aux in's option for concideration by potential new buyers).

It's kinda like a Homer Simpson thing...
MMMmmmm... Raaaadioooo Shaaaaakkkk!

Jeff ,
Good for you !!! You will never regret getting that system . It is the very best !! Made for the steel player by a fine steel player . Everything you need is built in and it is super user friendly .

I have the complete Stereo Steel combo and tuned cabinets Gerry makes for several years now and like it better every time I use it .

I have 2 guitars. My origional 93 Legrand and I just bought a Fessy from Herb Steiner with E-66 PU's. With the JBL speakers that I think are slightly warmer I like the 66's which I think are 17,500 much better than the 20,000 ohm emmons. I'm going to change the darker pickups to a single coil maybe 18,000. Man, does this system sound good with the fessy!!!!!!
