Hi Sam. Got my Steel King a week ago and am very happy with the sound and ease of operation. It,s as loud as my Evans, sounds better and has a better reverb. The question I have is can I replace the pilot light jewel with the one I got from the Fender Store. It looks like you changed the type of lamp socket. Thanks Hope to hear from you soon. Jim

James,
I am glad you have received and like your new Steel-King. We think it compares favorably to an Evans, too. We really liked the sound of the Evans amps we listened to during the Steel-King's development.

The pilot light jewel on the Steel-King is not the same as the traditional one that is found on most of Fender's tube amps. It is our "solid-state" jewel which accepts an ultra-bright light emitting diode (LED).

The typical lamp in a tube amp is powered by the vacuum tube heater supply. So, your jewel is probably not the right kind.

Best Regards,
Sam Marshall
