Dwayne,
Rumors abound that he will be in St Louie this year,& possibly have some "re-issue" CD's available of the album.

I bought a copy at the convention from Herb Steiner.
Maybe he's got some more copies or would know where to get them. |

My Tribute Site for "Hot Club of America in Hi-Fi" is still alive, but I changed domains earlier this year. The link from the site listed above has not been updated although I informed the webmaster of the new address.
it is now at: HTTP://www.dvanet.net/hcoahome.html
The Live365 HCOA broadcast was only created because of the rarity of the material, to share with others the magic of HCOA at a time when it was quite difficult to find; the broadcast was taken down at Jody's request because Jody has indeed reissued the album on CD!!! I was glad to oblige, 'cause the Maestro deserves the fruits of his labours!!!

I had a dozen copies at ISGC because Jody didn't have a product table, so I handled them for him and gave him the bucks. I sold out, technically breaking Scotty's rules, but I'm sure he didn't mind.
I'm sure JC will respond to this thread and get in touch with you. I listened to my copy a couple times through driving back from MO. You won't be disappointed if you like great guitar music from the 1950's.
(Scotty's rules for vendors is that the products they sell be of their own creation or particular to them, so that there's little or no competition between dealers. For example, when I have a product table, Scotty doesn't offer my CDs for sale. When I don't have a table, my stuff is on his.)

This is a fabulous album! I'm glad to see it on CD, so it can be enjoyed again! I used to listen to it when it was on the Live365 site. The arrangements are top notch, and the songs are some of my favorites. This is a must have for lovers of steel guitar. If you like the Speedy West/Jimmy Bryant recordings, you'll absolutley love the Hot Club of America. It's a bit more mellow (not the typical treble and crashing sounds of the West/Bryant albums). Although I love the wizardry of Speedy West, the HCOA is even better. It's a work of art that will bring many hours of listening pleasure!
I can't wait to get a copy. Don't forget me Jody! |
