I recently acquired a Fender Stringmaster D-8 and noticed the knob underneath the bridge cover plate.
After taking the strings off and removing the bridge, I saw that this looks to be a blend pot for the 2 pickups. Anyone have any recomendations on where to set this. I've been cleaning it up a bit before restringing it and haven't had it plugged in other than to make sure it works. |

Jerry, string the instrument, tune it, and then set the knob on the blend control for the "thinnest" tone.
Play the guitar and rotate the knob and add "depth" pleasing to you, for that tuning.

Joey, every time I see those photos of your drop-dead mint Stringmaster from the year of my birth, I have a serious bout of SAS (Steel Aquisition Syndrome). I love my '54 Dual Pro, but oh, you kid!!!

Thanks for the reply Rick, I'll give 'er a whirl.
Cool pix Joey. Mine says 1/57 in the tuner pocket.
I got the DeArmond pedal with the guitar. I'll get to try it out Friday evening on a gig. |

Thanks guys. I'm very proud of it.
I never have any gigs that need this type of an instrument, so it always stays home.
I guess in a way that's good because it remains mint.
Still, I wish I could find someone doing Western Swing so I could enjoy it in a band setting. Instruments should be played and heard.
