Anyone have a method of upgrading/enhancing old live stereo recorded band tapes? EQing? Other devices?... etc?

You can also use Goldwave. It has many enhancing features and recording.

I use "Goldwave".
It enablds me to to take stuff that we recorded about 1960-65 and make it really up to date audio quality. I needed to slow down and (sometimes) speed up the pitch,and ofen times,EQ the material. With todays computer stuff and EQ abilites,it's often time we canot tell the difference in bad and good original recordings.
It's amasing how much tapes are off pitch,(read as not in tune) and what we need to do in order to get them up to the correct pitch.
I use a tape I made to get all of the tracks correctly tuned by adjusting the speed of the tape speed moter.
Basically, It is a tape I made by useing the computer,which is far more accurite than a tuner,to emmit a specific tone (ie, 440 cps) and then recording it to a tape. Then I use a 10 hz o-scope to set the play-back speed of the tracks.
I check the speed of the playback player every 3-4 months to be sure that I am in correct pitch. |
