Topic: Muddy Sound From Nashville 1000 |

| A week ago I received a Nashville 1000. I played Sunday night and was somewhat satisfied but tonight I could not get the muddy sound out of it. I realize there are many of these on the market but I wonder if all you guys and gals like the Nashville 1000 as well as the Nashville 400. I can tell a difference in the lows and reverb but maybe I have not played it enough to get the clean sound I am looking for. My Nashville 400 was in shop but I have been very satisfied with the 400. Any info would be appreciated including recommendations for setting the Nashville 1000. |

Paul,
In the final issue of "Steel Guitar World Magazine", they did a tech report on the Nashville 1000. Included in the article were the settings that some of the major players used at a steel show that featured this amp. If you would like these for reference, please let me know and I will e-mail them to you. |

Paul, Did you maybe use different cords when you tried the new amp? Some guitar cords sap a lot of the "highs".
Just to satisfy your curiosity, try substituting cords to see if you hear a difference. ....... JD |

There "is" a reason for the muddiness, and it could very well be the cables, and/or other reasons. Keep in touch with your findings. It's not the amp though that is causing the muddiness.

| I am using the George L cables I bought at the Texas show. I received some different settings from a gentleman which shows some of the pro steelers settings. I have not given up as of yet. I am still working and hoping to get the settings where they work best for me. |

for settings on my Nash1000, i started w: the settings in the manual and took it from there
i find the E9 setting is pretty good even for C6
David N, could you send me a copy of those settings you refer too ?

| Thanks David for the settings you sent me. I am trying every one of them so see what is the best for me. I have received emails from some steel players with settings as well. I also spoke with Mike Brown from Peavey today and we discussed a couple of items. Thank you Mike for taking time out of your schedule to visit for a few minutes. I have used Peavey amps for years and plan on doing so in the future. Sometimes with something new it takes time to get adjusted to a different sound and I sure do not want to come across as a Peavey basher. Peavey has went through many tests to make amps for steel players as well as other instruments and they are to be commended for their efforts. |
