Topic: Hilton pedal problem |

| I have been moving stuff around in my studio alot lately and I have noticed that my hilton pedal occasionally wont hold a position. Then when I pick it up and turn it over it clunks(just a little) then it works fine. My concern is that on stage it wont correct itself. I'm not sure what the clunk is. It never did that before. Any ideas. |

| David, thanks for using my pedal. Your problem is easily solved. There are only two moving parts inside the pedal. The two parts are a piece of plastic and a spring. These two parts make up the clutch that holds the pedal in place when you remove your foot. Remove the two hinge bolts and split the pedal in two parts. You won't hurt anything, if you do I will fix it for free. Notice there is an aircraft lock nut holding the piece of plastic that has the spring attached. Turn this aircraft lock nut 3/4 of a turn counter-clock-wise. In other words loosen it 3/4 of a turn. Here is what is happening; The nut is to tight, not allowing the spring to pull the plastic back. The snapping sound you hear is when the spring is able to pull the plactic back. There should be constant pressure from the spring where it won't snap. We adjust these nuts at the factory, but over time a very small percentage needs the nut holding the plastic loosened slightly. This clutch system has been a really good system, without any failures over time for us. Hope this information helps. Alright!!! I believe Keith Hilton will also be playing the Siloam Springs show. It is a really great show.
