Hello,

Thought I'd ask here as opposed to doing my research! he he he! You guys have been great help already, and have saved me hours of time.

What is the layout of the switch wiring? I assume looking at the amp schematics it is not a momentary switch, but a always on or always off. But which is which? Is it just grounding out the tip to the sleeve?

I'm going to make a switch assemblely until I can buy one. And I probably could wing it, but any help is appreaciated.

Also the Reverb works with out a switch but the tremelo doesn't. Is the switch part of the tremlo circuit and not part of the reverb?

Thanks,

Joe

These are not mometary jacks. The reverb is stopped by applying ground to the tip (center) of the RCA jack. The tremolo oscillator is engaged by applying ground to the tip of the RCA jack. Tremolo will not operate without a ground applied. A lot of guys just take an RCA jack and short tip to sleeve, then just plug it in for instant tremolo!

Thanks Ken,

Thats what I thought, but wasn't possitive on what I was looking at on the schematics.

I'll try the shorted out rca connector on the tremelo.

The only problem with leaving the tremolo shorted or "on" is you give way to the opto-isolator failing well before it's "normal" life! Fender makes a ReIssue footswitch for less than $50 from any dealer--I know because I am one! If I can help in your search let me know! Thanks J W

I want to add that on the re-issues, such as the Twin Reverb, the RCA jacks have been eliminated and a 1/4 inch stereo jack is in it's place. I thought it was a great move as I always had trouble with the old RCA jacks.

JW...good point, I actually thought that same thing. I ended up making a quick pedal with an on/off switch to test it out. Works great. I may look you up for an actual Fender unit.
