How do you like your Bill Lawrence XR-16?
I did a search on it and the last post was May 2003. Not too much is said about it recently though. How does it compare to a 910 or Geo. L 10-1?

| For whatever reason, the 910 (912) was a little flat (lifeless) in my Carter. The XR is what I've been using for the last year. The Jerry Wallace rewind PU is the best thing I've had in the guitar but I've chosen to compromise tone a little bit with the Lawrence humbucker. |

I have one and I like it, but it tends to get lost in the mix on stage. It doesn't cut through like the 712. I use it when I want a more subtle, transparent effect, like in Hawaiian or new age songs.

| I put one on a 94 Emmons LeGrand II. I really like this pickup! I tried a George L Tommy White in it a was totaly unhappy with that pickup. |

I like a warm dark tone but not muddy. I'm trying different pickups to try and get what I'm looking for. I just don't want one that's so brittle it'll cut my head off.
BTW, I would need a narrow mount pickup. The Geo. L 10-1 and True Tone pups are the runner ups for this project. The BL 910 works well in my other rigs but not this particular Mullen that I'm working on. |

| I have an XR-16 in my new Williams and I like it very much. When I was deciding which pickup to get, I got together with b0b and he was kind enough to demonstrate different pickups in his Sierra. If I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong b0b) the XR-16 was a bit brighter than the George L 10-1 but still on the mellow side. Not thin or brittle - a nice full sound. I hope this helps. |

The L XR-16. Is Great. I was a Die hard L 710. Man & didn't thing I would ever change.
The TT-10 was great but The XR-16 was what I'm been using the last 10 months or so. I would like to try the 910 one of these days.
Right now I'm very happy with the XR-16. |

Made all the difference in my Fessie. I had been using a George L E66 which in itself is a fine pup, but the LXR 16 really made the guitar stand up at attention. I'm a big fan of Lawrence products.

| I got my new Carter w/TW's in the fall of 2002, was not happy w/ the tone at all. I called and talked to Bud, and he sent me the XR-16s and I've been real happy with them ever since. I think they have that "grainy" PP single coil sound without the hummmm |
