I have a Peavey Profex with steel settings, plus some. I don't us it with a steel but do run a strat, and other guitars, through it. It sounds ok. My question is: Are there settings specifically for guitar?

The original settings were ALL for guitar. Reset it to the factory settings and you should be all set.

The factory presets are there and you can try them without losing your user settings. They are all pretty useless for country, jazz or any type of clean music. I generally find some of the Newman settings I like for guitar and go with them.
