Which do you want the Profex or the Session 2000?? They are different units.
Just play with the parameters and you can get a deeper delay. |

Hey, Buster, I have a Profex II, and Transtube Fex, and this should work the same on Your session amp. (I'm assuming you're trying for the "cascading-more-notes-than-I'm-really- playing" sound popularized by country guitarist Albert Lee, and steelers Bobbe Seymour etc.) Program (or use) a patch that has your favorite basic tone, then either change or add the Delay (DL) effect, and set the delay to MONO delay, one repeat only- or as low as the feedback setting will go- and start with around 500 ms of delay time. The mix should be 100% and the delay output as high as it will go (warning, don't do that with any feedback or it will get away from you!) You should hear the delay sounding after your note at the same volume as your original note. Then tweak the delay time to fit the delay length to the timing of the track or tune you're playing. The trick is to get the delay to time out to a dotted quarter note if you're playing straight quarter notes on the beat- that way you get the repeat of the note you play a note and a half after you first play it. Hence the cascading effect. I thump along quietly on the strings while I set the delay time to the track. On a really uptempo version of something like Orange Blossom Special, for instance, I often end up around 528 ms. Good luck!

Sounds like good advice Mark.Only problem,I can't get it work to my satisfaction.I tried everything you suggested but it just don't quiet make it.Now when I use the tempo delay set for 1/4 notes I sound just Emmons on Riders in the Sky. Now most folks would just use the Tempo setting. But it's driving me nuts that I can't get it the hard way.Besides only my Roland has a tempo setting.I want to be able to do this with a stomp box.Still trying. |

Ok I got it.I had to go to 135ms.But it works great. This is for Buddy's Witches Brew.I noticed Ernie suggested around 300ms.But for some reason this tune works best at 135ms on (MY) Roland GP-100.Your mileage may vary.--bb |

Good advice there Bobby. I tried to learn that tune a couple of weeks ago and couldn't get past the delay setting thing. I too tried around 325 mls and couldn't make it work. I'm trying to do it with a boss stomp box delay. |

Mark, is that right? Seems like the faster the tempo the shorter the delay time. Am I missing something?
