I need to replace pots in my sho-bud volume pedal what should i use??
I also need to fix my ernie ball pedal(rains it pours) same question

The Allen Bradley number was JA1N200P504AA
(2" shaft) or the JA1N056S504AA (7/8"shaft). These were a logarithmic taper and the A/B company was bought out by Clarostat. The later pots were made in Mexico (stamped as such). They are no longer available however. I am trying a newer pot I ordered from a local supplier who crossed the old A/B part number JA1N056S504AA and came up with a pot that supposedly is the same specs as the old A/B with the 10%log audio taper, 500kohm, 1,000,000 cycle rotational life. We'll see  |

I have 9 old sho-bud pedals and I think the guy that does all my work put 500k pots in all of them and the tone is great.
Sorry to say I dont know the name brand but if it is that important to someone I could open one up and look at it.
I always buy my parts from Duane's Music in Troy Mo. so if you need a pot to work he would know what to send you and usually has them in stock his phone number is 636-528-4307 I hope he doesnt mind me putting his number on here but he is the man to call when you need most anything in the steel guitar market.

Those old ShoBuds came with an Ohmite CA5041 pot in them. That is 500K Ohms, audio taper (logarithmic), and is a 2 watt hot carbon molded mil-spec pot.
THe Ohmite is available several places. Most large electronic supply houses have them or can get them. They're about 10-12 bucks apiece. |

| The pot I received is a PEC brand but with the "KA" prefix denoting a logarithmic taper. There was previous mention of the PEC but was a linear taper "KU" prefix. I told the tech that the log taper was critical and he said the PEC should be very close to the A/B and Clarostat pots. They are 500k ohm with the 7/8" shaft length. Now, to find time to test drive one! |

Paul Franklin Sr.has a new pot that I think could be the answer to what we all have been looking for as far as a pot pedal goes.
I've been meaning to run over and get one from him and try it.
both of my Emmons pedals are down because the pots are shot....I have a Hilton and have just been using that....
btw....did you get the schematic I sent you?
