If the 750 digital power-amp is a 2 channel unit,...... No, there wont be any difference. The "Profex II" does a very nice job of emulateing a 2 channel sound from a single source.

My stereo split is processed in the last unit of my rack (Alesis MicroVerb). Then into each channel of my Classic 50/50 power head or into each of two session 400s. If you have a stereo chorus, you could try a very slight setting of chorus to fatten it up a little more. All of my gear is old, so there is probably better gear with better results. Much like my sex life

Gotta have two power amps or two channels on the amp.

Here is what works for me. I split the signal at the volume pedal, go thru a Lexicon stereo signal processor, and take the stereo outs to separate amp/speakers.

Scott,
The answer to your question is YES and NO.
It's different because a separate preamp and power amp won't sound exactly like a combo amp. It's the same because everything you learned about how to set your fx and place the speakers still applies.

Take a few minutes to learn your preamp and fx processor(s) thoroughly. You'll want to be sure the EQ is right for the speaker / amp / preamp combination.

Unless you're running the stereo through the PA, the audience probably won't hear the stereo effect much, but it sure sounds good in the steel player's seat.

My advice is turn up the profex outputs FULL and manage the overall volume with the DPC-750 volume controls in conjustion with the profex INPUT volume control.....One speaker close to you and the other at the far side of the stage..If you place the nearest speaker just behind you and angle it towards you a little it will act as a monitor so you WON'T need any steel in the PA monitor mix...this could be a good thing as the vocalist won't feel intruded upon !!(It'll let you use a bit more "Poke")

Some of the Profex units may not deliver enough output voltage to drive a power amp properly. If you run into that, there is a mod (add two resistors) that will help increase the output level. I believe the mod is a 10K resistor parallel with R910 and another in parallel with R922. You could check with Mike Brown to be certain.
