With an amp with a separate volume pedal circuit (for example, a Peavey Session 500), will a Hilton pedal still be an improvement over a regular pot. pedal?

Thanks,

Chris

Yeah, but I wouldn't use the 3 cable hookup. Just plug your guitar into the pedal and the pedal into your amp. Some of what the Hilton pedal does is match the impedence to solve a similar problem that the 3-cable hookup addresses.

Do you notice a different tone with your volume pedal partially open vs. wide open? If not, you won't hear much difference with the Hilton pedal. You won't ever have to replace a pot or worry about a string breaking, however.

Thanks, Larry.

Yeah, I figured that this is what the Hilton was designed to do and wondered if using one with such an amp is killing one bird with two stones!

The Hilton pedal has other features, though, that would make it a worthwhile addition, as you said.

Cheers,

Chris

With my Nashville 400 I hear more highs with the Hilton pedal than with a pot pedal and the 3-cord hookup. Also the pedal action is smoother with the Hilton. Then there is the Hilton tone adjustment, which is good for matching the pedal to a specific pickup.

Interesting, Dave. I think I am sold on the Hilton. Now I just have to talk to the Treasurer . . . .

I've had one of Keith's Vol. Pedals for over two years now, and I wouldn't trade it for all the pot pedals in the world...I couldn't have made a finer investment. You won't regret getting one either. HAL
