Way too much low end for a reso
I usually turn the bass OFF, and leave the mids and treble set pretty much like I set them for my pedal steel sound.

Actually, I leave the amp like it is and change the tone settings at the preamp/eq stage in whatever Fx processor I'm using (usually a Boss GT-6 or Digitech 2112). I store those settings in a 'Dobro' preset.

Works for me. Try backing off the low end.

I would kill the reverb on the amp. When I had an external reverb unit that had a foot switch control, I put another jack in the bottom of the Match Bro I had and connected the wires to the selector switch on the Match Bro. Now, anytime I switched the Match Bro to "ON", the reverb automatically went off. The switch on the Match Bro took the place of the switch on an on/off foot switch.
