I'm trying to get my Digitech Quad4 to play an octave lower than the string I hit. It will do it, but it insists on mixing in the original (higher) note with it. I've been through all the editing of the patch that I can find, and can't seem to find a way to shut out the original note (if I set it to 0%, it also shuts off the note an octave-below; I guess it needs enough of the original note to create the new, lower note). Would a Boss octave pedal, or some other device, work any better at giving just the transposed, lower note, without hearing the original note mixed in?

While I cannot answer your question , I do use the Digitech Quad Four . I would suggest you e-mail Gerry Walker ( gdwalker@mei.ws)
with your question . He programs these units
when he sells them with his Stereo Steel Combos and I'll bet he could help you with what you are trying to do .
He is a nice guy to visit with on the phone also . His phone number a/c/ 619- 460- 5008.

| I have a Boss octave Box which has a volume control for the original note, one octave lower, and two octaves lower. (three seperate volume controls). You can buy these used at most music stores (or on ebay I guess) for about 45 bucks. It works only for single note stuff, multi note input produces distortion (not the desired kind). I have only used this for six string. Regards,Fred |

Jim, I can confirm this for you, but not until next weekend. In the meantime you could probably check one our at your local music store. They almost always have one.
