Steve, I recently put new tubes in my Vibrsonic. I ended up with Masa Boogie tubes.
They were cheaper than some of the others and my amp sounds great.

If you replace the 6l6s, you may need to get the bias voltage reset, and I would also have the filter caps checked too.

The JJ/telsa tubes are excellent and reasonably priced. There 6L6GC is a true 30 watt tube and can handle 500 volts on the plates. Their preamp tubes are excellent as well.

I got Svetlana 6L6GC here for my Reissue Twin, check it out, think Ricky Davis did as well, they were on sale, they stamp the current on the box, so you order the same ones next time with no re-bias http://www.thetubestore.com/

Hey Jim; I did have those at one time...but just moved to the MOST ultimate Tube I've ever experienced......ALL Jan Phillips for me now....
Yes the Phillips tube is probably the most expensive....but when you've tried every tube known to mankind in your amp(like I have) and then you put the Phillips tubes in> "You will never go back".

I have to go with the NOS JAN Phillips tubes also.
I just put matched quartet of JAN Phillips 7581A tubes in a '66 Showman. These are a Military/Industrial version of the 6L6GC. They have more overhead and will take a higher plate voltage than any 6L6 tube. They have a better lowend response and high end clarity and last longer.
I have some old big bottle Sylvania's that I have had in a Pro Reverb for years. I love the sound of those tubes, but I may put some of these JAN Phillips 7581A's in it also.
Most NOS tube websites have these 7581A's for about $120-$150 for a matching Quad.

Thanks guys. Those JAN Phillips tubes I Found are $50. each. OUCH !! Some tough decisions ahead. I`m playing a pro 11 and a LDG, with original pick-ups re-wound by Jerry Wallace. I know this rig will sound nice when re-tubed. Thanks to all for the help. Anybody else? Thanks, Steve
