If your SE-200 has Expand and Depth toggle switches, turn those on, i.e. in the up position. The treble control doesn't really do a whole lot, you've noticed there is no midrange control, but I liked setting the "Body" control to about 8, and the bass to 6, depending on which neck I'm using, the room, etc. I found without the Expand and Depth switches in, these amps are very boxy-sounding. Don't waste your time with the "Scruff" control, I recommend setting the pre and master gain controls at the same level; the odd-order harmonic distortion you'll get from a high preamp/low master gain setting is rather harsh to my ears. Their preamplifiers are amazing though. Hook yours up to a power amp and a 12" speaker sometime. The new preamps sound about as tubey as you're going to find without the genuine thermionic emmission process. Evans amps are VERY reliable, and the company does provide great customer support if you need it.
