I'm changing out pickups on my Sho Bud Professional. The original pickups had a red, white and black wire. The black being the ground. The red and white wires went to a two-way toggle for splitting the pickup (I guess). It definitely added more treble or brightness. The George L has one red, a black and a plain wire. The plain wire and the black wire are soldered together. How does the George L wire up to this Sho Bud Pro (D-10)? If you need more imformation, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Thanx guys! The delimma I faced was the old Sho Bud pickups could be split on either neck using a 2 way toggle. This added a method for tone control. I tried to bypass these toggles, but couldn't make it work. I separated the plain and black wires and ran them like the original pickups were wired. The only thing I have now are shutoff switches, since the George L's can't be split. Boy howdy do these pickups sound good! This old Pro Sho Bud has never sounded so good. Incredible tone and sustain. It was like finding the most incredible amp money can buy. Once again, I live and learn through trial and error. |
