Im Currious about BBE Sonic Maximizers...

This Sonic Maximizer by BBE seems to Make Our vocals really come alive. I tried one in a store today on a Twin with a six string guitar. It Seemed to make the Twin Sing even Better. Are any of yall using a BBE Sonic Maximizer in your rig? Im thinking I would like to add one to my Rack that Houses My PROFEXII and my Furman Power Conditioner.
Please advise me your thoughts.

I used one of these for years when I used a rack system. It was invaluable as a general eq for the rack. You could turn up the BBE effect without increasing treble for dead sounding rooms, and increase the low end without muddiness for bright rooms. I loved it. I don't use a rack these days, and like the basic sound of the amps I use.

I use the 482 BBE Sonic Maximizer in my rack setup. I like the crispness and definition it gives to my tone. It has a bypass button so you can hear the difference the unit makes. Once you put it in your rack, you won't be without it. I bought mine over e-bay at quite a savings. It seems that there is usually one for sale on e-bay most times.

These are not EQs, though they do make a dramatic change in the sound. Both Aphex and BBE work on the fact that our brains have a little problem digesting complex musical signals all at once. The units separate the bass frequencies from the higher frequencies and deliver these signals at slightly different times while maintaining proper phase relationship. The identical signal processed through a BBE will sound much clearer, with more focused definition.
You need to be cautious with the amount of this process you dial in, because the ear tends to fatigue if there is a large amount of this process dialed in.
I was experimenting last night with my BBE 862, and was very pleased with the result.

I place mine just before the amp. Quite a few recording setups also use this unit to clear up the sound when recording to cds from lps or tape.

I patched mine from the pre-amp out to the power amp in. That would be just like putting it last in line on a PA set-up like it's recommended. Don't loop it cause you won't like it. It really brings a guitar to life. I drug mine out and hooked it back up and I can't believe I quit using it. If nothing else it should come after the eq section.
