Tuning to play with a rythm maker

I've noticed that lots of forumites use drum machines with the automatic bass lines.

How do you tune to play along with it so the bass player doesn't throw you off. I have a Zoom RT-123 and it doesn't have a pitch control.

Do other brands, or maybe more expensive machines?

'Not sure about other units, but my Boss DR-5 has a tuner on board. I have never had to calibrate the unit as it always agrees with my Boss TU-12 tuner.

Cool thing about the DR-5 for practice is that it has a guitar input and amp simulator as well as headphone output and level control. It is hard to beat the sampling of the drums, bass and "steel string guitar2" voice for acoustic. Some of the other voicings aren't so cool...
