Moviola URS Amp - advice for an electrical Klutz

After hearing from some forumites about how these old little tube amps (manufactured for 16mm film editing) make great lap steel practice amps I was able to snag one on ebay.
The amp needs to have a grounded 3-prong plug & a 1/4 jack put it. Being pretty much ignorant re electrical work, I have a few Q's ...

* how hard is this to do at home and what do I need to do?
* If I pay someone to do it, what's a fair price?

Without seeing the device personally, I'd say it shouldn't be hard to do this IF you have electrical experience. If you don't, it's far easier to have someone who does do it for you.

Adding a line cord and a jack is not that big a deal. I imagine most shops would do it for $60-$90. However, adding extra controls (for tone) would be considerably more.
