Hi

I have aquired a Peavey Nashville 400 for free. It needed some new plugs & other minor items. The problem is that when i removed the chassis to fix the cabinet I noticed some of the lands where the components are soldered to is standing above the board.
Does anyone know how these can be stuck back down on the Board?
Thanks
Dennis

The best method for this is to hardwire your components.

I've cleaned off the flux and glued them down with superglue w/some success. But you also have to fix whatever made it come up in the first place - like upward pressure from a soldered component which was seated unevenly. Also,if it looks like the land is in danger of breaking from the surrounding land,I'll solder a bridge across the weak spot with a small sliver of wire like the clipped off leg of a resistor or something like that.Just be careful you don't make the problem worse with too much heat from the gun - which a lot of times is what caused the pad to lift in the first place. -MJ-

If the Pad is lifted at a component Lead, There are rivets that can be installed along with some sort of fast acting epoxy glue to secure it back to the board.

Michael is correct about heat being the #1 cause of lifted pads. A 33 watt Iron is about max for soldering on Printed wire boards and then care must be used. If you aren't experienced in this type of work, take it to an expert
