My question has to due with output loss when I engage my SR-16.

Set-up:
"Post EQ Send" << SR-16
"Pre EQ Send" >> vol. pedal (L120)
"Pre EQ Return << vol. pedal
"Low Gain Input" << 7A Match Box << PSG
"Remote Switch" << remote switch

If I engage the foot switch to play the SR-16 thru the ampl., my output drops considerably, est. 6db(v) or more.

What have I missed or done wrong, or is this normal?

I hesitated in commenting on your question as I wasn't sure just what an SR-16 was, but since speaking with you, this hookup configuration will not work for you. The only way to accomplish a "mute" function for your drum machine is to design a mute switch that would be in line with the input of the amp which would pause your SR-16.
