Maybe someone hear may know. I have a friend looking for a volume pedal pictured in the Rickenbacker Book published in Japan. Page 161 dated 1958 shows a cool picture of Jerry Byrd in what looks like a Rickenbacker showroom sitting with his 7 string Bakelite and a second picture of him standing playing a Rick Bass!! There is a volume pedal connected to his Jerry Byrd console steel and the same volume pedal under his left foot in picture of him sitting with his Bakelite.

Does anyone know if Rickenbacker ever made a volume pedal in 1958 (or ever)? It is all black shaped kind of like a narrow Ernie Ball pedal with the input on the side and the output in the front and the main body tapering from front to back. Maybe a DeArmond? Who besides Fender and Bigsby made volume pedals in 1958?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Harry

I understood that Jerry made his own pedal, kinda like Rick A......does everything. He wanted it to work backwards and that's the way he made it work.

Didn't George Gruhn have one of JB's volume pedals for sale awhile back?
