how about experience with blue tube equipment

I dont know who makes it,but I believe the gear is called blue tube.I was thinking at one time of buying the amp and preamp and using it with my nashville 400,but I dont know many who are using it.I am looking for something to warm up my solid state nashville 1000 amp.Anyone out there used the equipement and is it worth the money?

There is no mod kit for Nashville 1000 amplifiers. I invite you to read an article about mod kits on the Peavey website at www.peavey.com It pretty much puts the very expensive mods kits that are being offered by third parties in perspective.

Richard, I think the unit You are inquiring about is the BLUE TUBE II made by TUBE WORKS. They make other Pre Amps but the BLUE TUBE II is what I use.This unit is a stereo Pre-Amp with an adjustable effects loop. It also has "line level" and "instrument level" out puts. The BLUE TUBE II matches up very well with any number of power amps. I use a SoundTech P S 802. My Good Friend uses a PEAVEY DPC 750. We both use a BOSS SE-50 for effects. My friend plays in Church and I play at the ELKS and MOOSE clubs. Both of us are quite satisfied with our overall sound. Old age is taking a toll on our chops, but this can't be blamed on the equipment. The BLUE TUBE II is extremely clean and is very warm and smooth in the high frequencies. Herby Wallace uses and sells the TUBEWORKS equipment. If You give Him a call, I'm sure He will inform You much better than I.
I might add that a mod for Steel Guitar is required to get optimum performance from this unit. Mine was installed at the factory.

Hey Richard...back around 1990 when all this "rack rage" really got going, I tried a Blue Tube along w/a multi-fx processor in front of 2 NV400's in an attempt to warm up my sound. It did CHANGE the sound....I don't know that it was necessarily better. I believe this was before the II was available. I did not try running the BT through the pwr amp of the 400's and bypass the NV's preamp section...this may have made a difference, I don't know. The Tubeworks gear is great IMO...I use the Mosvalve and the Blue Tube II in a stereo configuration [w/2 spkr. cabs] along w/the Real Tube Reverb, which I think is the heart of the system. These units really work best, I think, grouped together this way. The amp and preamp is a lot of gear to put in front of that NV1000. You might just hunt for a really sweet echo/delay unit to add some thickness to that 1000. This should really be all you need w/that amp. I know we have to try these things in our quest for the "ultimate" sound, and I wish you the best of luck w/whatever you decide to try...If I can be of any help, let me know JO>

I recently got a Tubeworks Real Tube 2 (9002) which I think is the current version. I'm lovin' it! I've tried it with a couple of different amps and it's sweet, sweet. I don't know if it gets the true Fender Twin sound but it's close. Small and light, too. Got several adjustments including a "contour" which boosts the lows driving the tubes. Be sure you get the "steel mod" from the factory. This enables the unit to handle the hotter signal from a psg pickup. It can be used with almost any type of amp from any of the Peaveys to most power amps. One output option is an instrument level output and goes to the input of your combo amp. I was skeptical whether this would work but it does. Or you can run the line level output into a power amp, or the FX input jack on amps with and FX loop, bypassing the pre-amp on the combo amp.

Guys, this is the kind of tone that makes you want to play all day, every day! No more honk. I use stomp box effects running straight into the input. My digital reverb (ART) and analog delay (Boss) plus a Boss EQ, deliver the tone. The Strat sounds great too. I'm running it into an elderly Peavey Musician Mk III head, no thoroughbred but lotta bang for the buck, and an EV15 speaker (8 ohms). I can imagine what a MosValve amp would do for this rig. Herby Wallace knows.

If you're tired of lugging a back-breaking combo amp and don't mind an extra trip to the truck, I recommend this setup. (a decent dolly will eliminate those extra trips).
