At the risk of revealing my stupidity (but hey, I do that all the time) I'd like to ask the better/preferred method of connecting an in-line device like a Boss DD-3 delay unit. Should I run it in line from my volume pedal to the Evans amp instrument in or should I connect it separately to the effects in and out?

Try it both ways and see which one you like the best, if there is any difference.

I've got a DD-5 and I've run it both ways and really couldn't hear any difference. I'm currently running it the effects loop of my Nashville 400, but tomorrow I may go back to putting it between the volume pedal and the amp in - who knows.

Hey Jan, Nice to see you on the Forum. Are you still working in Ft. Hamilton? I have found that when I run the effects through the amp's loop that I get less noise, but I have to change my amp settings, especially the treble. As Jack says, I guess it's a matter of preference.

I, like Jack, use mine both ways. I have noticed that when used beween the pedal and amp,it does have a greater signal to the amp.(That is due to it being a pre-amp itself) It tends to bright up the highs as the volumne is decreased.
