| Was looking at a new Gretsch Electomatic Lap Steel G5700 model at a local music store. The price seemed reasonable. It was brand new, but the plastic fretboard was buckled. They had in a window display. This effected the harmonics. The salesman took off the plastic fretboard which was attached with 6 screws and discovered that it only had double sided tape in addition to the screws to attach it to the finish. The salesman offered to glue it, but I was hesitant. Obviously this is a buyer be wary situation. The salesman offered to order another. Before going that route, was wondering if anyone else has similar experience with this brand/model? |

Haven't had the experience of warpage. However, I can tell you it is a good guitar for the value. The finish is very attractive, tone is excellent. One thing I'd suggest is the removal of the right hand (chrome) plate over the strings...totally useless. It is only there probably for beginners who rest their right hand on it while picking. Not a good habit.  |

I recently picked up one of these new off of e-bay and I think it is a very good bang for the buck! Did you get the Gretsch gig bag that is made for it?
