My bass player offered to loan me his '65 Bassman head and 2x15" cabinet for use on my steel. Any thoughts on this amp for PSG use? He is also loaning me a Fender reverb unit.

Ron,
Well it might have some limitations, but
you can give it a shot. You'll find the
Reverb unit will probably add some hissing
noise to your overall signal. If you
switch a couple of those 12AX7 tubes to
12AT7, or even 12AY7's, you won't overdrive
the preamp quite as easily.

I think it will do a fine job! I've used bass amps, on occasion, and the have a nice full sound.

I have two blackface Bassman amps, each with a 2x12" cabinet.

I love 'em, singly or together.

for "ambience" with the Bassmans I use a stompbox delay. Or a microverb. or both. or neither. I'd prefer a spring 'verb, but what the heck. I always have the Vibrolux for that...
