I have an Evans amp (FET 500) that's about 5 yrs old. It's been a great amp but it's starting to pop when the volume is turned up. I suspect it's from bouncing in the truck.

All cords, etc, check out ok.

Any amp experts out there with suggestions before I ship it back to the factory for repair?

Thanks

If it pops or makes static like noise when you turn up the volume, it's probably either a dirty or bad pot. With the power off, run each pot back and forth several times from zero to max. Sometimes that will clean a pot. If that doesn't work, cleaning them with a spray (control) cleaner will usually take care of any that are just "dirty", however, you'll have to take the chassis out of the cabinet to get at the pots. If that doesn't do it then it's off to the repair shop.

Thanks Jack. I'll give it a try.
