| The one that I have and is great is the classic 30. It has a very warm sound, and is light and portable. I do some stuff in church and sometimes I'll take that. I believe Dan Tyack feels the same way about these amps too. |

I can't tell the difference except for the color. Maybe that's the only difference.
The Peavey classic 30 weighs 39.5 lbs. I was hoping for something lighter for low budget dates where I feel really lazy. For comparison, my Fender Princeton Reverb is 31 lbs and Yamaha GS100-112 is 41 lbs on my broken bathroom scale.
Going direct usually sounds good but once in a while it sounds bad and nothing seems to help so I am always looking for a new dependable alternative to fall back on. |

Earnest, I like the classic 30, but you probably wouldn't like it, it's not very clean. It's an awesome blues amp.
The difference between the models is color, but as you know that has a big effect on sound.

| You all might want to check out the Fender Blues Deluxe also. Tweed amp with 1x12, 40w. I love it. Very sweet amp, but probably best for a blues amp like Dan said. |

| I have a Classic 30 and I don't like it for steel, it seems a little too dirty and bright, but I have a Fender Princeton 112 Plus that I really like for steel. It is 65 watts RMS and is smaller and lighter than the Classic 30. It has a clean sound and plenty of low end. |

The Classic 30BT and the tweed Classic 30 amps are identical except for the covering. There is no doubt that the Classic 30 is one of the best sounding, selling and portable bang for the buck amplifiers that is available. Several, several major guitarists use this amp 'live'(when using ear monitors)and it sounds great! Check them out at your local Peavey dealer. I got a Fender Princeton 65 (a solid-state multi channel guitar amp). I was quite surprised how well the clean channel handle my steel. Several other steelers heard and and had good comments.

I've got a Classic 50212 which I use for guitar. It does sound good with steel but I use something a little different for steel.
I really do like the classic series. I A/B'd this amp for one week against a fender all tube amp and took the Peavey.
