I've been very happy with my Webb 6-14E for almost 20 years now-only 2 minor breakdowns.I would like to have a schematic for this amp for the future.I've had no luck from Jim and Co. Anybody got one? Thanks in advance.

I'd like one too. From other posts being put up, it looks like time may be running out. Mine's also 20 yrs + with no trouble so far except a burnt out pilot light.

I've always wondered why any amp company would give away schematics, or sell them cheap, except maybe to trusted repair shops. That would just make it easier for anyone to copy the amp that presumably took years of work to design.

I used to have schematics for the Webb, but when I got rid of my last one (had 3), I disposed of the schematics.

There was a post a couple of months ago about this. You might want to do a search and see if anyone was able to come up with this.

The major manufacturers are not afraid to provide schematics, and they have patents or copyrights anyway to protect them. I don't think anyone is going to clone a Nashville 400 or a Fender Twin Reverb. If they tried, it would probably cost more than they could buy them for.

Some of the smaller companies, such as Goodrich or John LeMay, do not provide schematics and even go to the extreme of obliterating the type number on IC's (and transistors) so you have to go back to the manufacturer for repairs. However in all fairness if John didn't do that he would be out of buisness in short order.

Thanks for the replies.I couldn't find a source through the search, but please keep your ears open.I know there are sites where amp tech-heads have large collections of schematics, but I don't have the addresses.

I have a schematic for the Webb amp that I would be happey to snail mail to anyone that needs it. Get me your address.
I have two of the Webbs and both are now acting up. It is an intermitant thing. The sound goes "fuzzy". Jimmy Webb has one of them right now but can not get it to act up. Isn't that normal. I had it gone over by an electonics tech before sending it in and all the connections and pots were cleaned. If anyone has fixed this problem let me know. It appears that there may be a component that has outlived it's usfull life.

I've already attached the schematics to emails for a few guys. How about if I post
them at my website address, then you can
click on over an print 'em out? If that'll
help anybody out, just let me know here on this topic.

Jay;

that'd be great if you put the schematic on your site.

Thanks!

Ok, here they are. I had to chop' em in half
since each section didn't totally fit on the
scanner.

Preamp (part 1)

Preamp (part 2)

Power amp (part 1)

Power amp (part 2)

I didn't post the EQ section since that
should rarely cause any problem in the amp, but if anyone needs it later, just let me know.

Hope this helps everyone out.

By the way, I'm obviously not charging a
nickel for the schematics, but if it
wasn't for b0b's forum, it wouldn't be possible. So, if you might consider a bit of
a donation to b0b, I'd really appreciate it!

Jay, many thanks for making this schematic available - I printed it off this morning.

Your comments about the forum and support are also very welcome and appropriate. You're the kind of guy that makes it all worthwhile.

Warm regards, Bob

I too, have a set of prints for this amp. Includes the EQ section, If anyone needs a copy, let me know. I'm not too sure tho as how helpful this is without the pictorial layout of the physical boards tho. I don't have a WEBB amp or ever seen one. Got the prints as a part of a package from someone a while back.
