Just wanted to draw your attention to the German Cattle Records" label - they have tons of material available by artists from the 1930's to the 1960's, lots of names that have been long forgotten, like Porky Freeman, Curly Williams, Eddie Kirk,..

One of their latest releases is a CD by Jerry Byrd (watch out, Ray!) called "28 Early Country & Hawaiian Steel Guitar Classics". Tracks are:

At Sundown
Bandera Waltz
Be Mine, Sweetheart, Be Mine
Byrd Boogie
Cocoanut Grove
Drowsy Waters
Elmer's Tune
Gold Coast Blues
Hilo March
I Regret To Say Aloha
Kaimana Hila
Kalana O Hilo Kanahaki
Kohalo March
Limehouse Blues
Little Lani Jo
Makalapua
Maui Chimes
Moonland
Over The Waves
Panhandle Rag
South
Steel Guitar Rag
Steelin' The Blues
Steelin' The Chimes
This 'N' That
Three String Swing
Wabash Blues
Steelin' Is His Business

Some of the tracks include vocals by Rex Allen and Danny Kuaana.

Their website is

Kind Regards, Walter

Hey Walter, thanks for thinking of me. This set is most certainly some of Jerry's finest works. For any of you out there that want to discover what the Ricky "moan" is all about, this would be a simple and pleasureable way for you to find it.

All of those tunes (and much more) are also avaialable through the forum catalog under the "CD's and Tapes" link heading.

Tom Bradshaw donated his entire music catalog to the forum, and bOb already has the JB cassettes listed.

The only downside is that they are in cassette format, not CD. But, if you run a cable from the "line outs" on your tape deck, to the "line in" on your computer's sound card, you can easily put them on your hard drive. Then all it takes is a CD burner to burn them to CD.
