Ron,

Ideally you need a case custom made for the guitar that holds everything tightly in place for traveling, but since you already have the case, my suggestion would be to purchase a "BlueJeans fabric" leg and rods pouch from Bobbe Seymour, and for a second approach, a piece of sponge-type bulletin poster board from an art supply store (Staples, Office Max,etc).

The pouch has plenty of pockets to hold the guitar legs and an extra pocket for pedal steel lever rods. Place the legs in the pockets and roll up the pouch and place it alongside of the guitar. A generous amount of spongy foam padding attached to the lid of the guitar case will hold both the legs in their rolled-up pouch and the guitar in place when the lid is closed.

Or, with legs loaded into legs pouch, close the flap on the pouch and lay out the pouch flat on the bottom of your guitar case. Place a piece of poster board on top of the legs pouch and then the guitar on top of the poster board. Then, add a generous amount of spongy foam padding to the lid of the guitar case to hold the legs flat in the pouch tightly under the guitar and the guitar in place when the lid is secured.

John
