These limited edition, lawsuit babies with the horseshoe pickups have killer tone both clean & over-driven somewhere between pre-war & post-war bakelites.

My question: whut is the function of the 3rd pot?

I have a '37 just like it, but no 3rd pot. I have a '39-'40 bakelite Ric also and agree that the sound is similar but more bite.
