This will undoubtedly by fantastic. These two are the cream of the crop as players and also have much experience as teachers.

Info from resonatorguitarist.com:

Mike Auldridge/Jimmy Heffernan Joint Workshop - We are extremely excited to announce that ResonatorGuitarist.com is sponsoring a series of Mike Auldridge instructional workshops. So far, we have scheduled the following dates:

Boston, Massachussetts April 2-4
Atlanta, Georgia June 18-20
Lansing, Michigan July 23-25

We hope to schedule two or three more workshops over the next few days to complete this series. This is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with dobro legend Mike Auldridge and learn the playing secrets that turned a whole generation of bluegrass fans onto resoantor guitar.

This three-day event is unlike anything Mike has done previously. Mike Auldridge and resonator guitar ace Jimmy Heffernan will work side by side to teach Mike's incomparable playing style. Anyone who has attended one of Jim's workshops knows that this will be no simple show and tell session. Participants will learn the nuts and bolts of Mike's playing technique, taught in a unique and entertaining manner.

We're still ironing out the workshop schedule, but basically it'll work like this. Friday and Saturday's schedule will consist of a 2-3 hour session with Jimmy Heffernan, followed by a 4-5 hour session with Mike and Jim. There'll be jamming in the evenings, and on Saturday evening Mike and Jim will put on a short performance, featuring material from their upcoming album.. Sunday's session will include a 3-4 hour session with Mike and Jim, and then the guys will work one-on-one time with participants. Lunch will be provided each day.

Participants will be responsible for their own accommodations, as well as for supplying their own guitars and accessories.

The price for this workshop is $300 per person and participation is strictly limited to 20 people, so we recommend you'll want to make your reservations as soon as possible. You can pay through PayPal, or by postal money order.

I signed on for the Atlanta workshop the minute I heard about it- Mike is a fantastic teacher and very approachable guy, as well as a world class stylist- reports from the first set of workshops are beyond glowing to say the least. I can't wait!

I would attend Boston in a NY minute if I didn't have prior commitments next weekend.

Jim and Mike are a great teaching and playing combination. They are both very personable and approachable in their own different ways. You will also hear some of the finest playing of MUSIC from these two gentlemen as I did in Dallas.

Hey, Mike & Jim...how about a cruise ship seminar?

It's right in my backyard but I can't go. Next time I hope they can give about two months lead time.

Howard.
Santa Cruz is on the Monterey Bay, about an hr south of San Fransisco, big surf destination with nice sailing scene, maybe catered day cruises on the O'Neal's sailing catamaran, they make good brunch I hear.
