There is considerable discussion going on about Alan Jackson's new CD.
King George has a new CD coming out on the 3rd of October.
It is my opinion that he will not be abandoning his "roots".
What say you?  |

I've heard some of it...he's got a song off the"Grand Tour"album(George Jones circa 1974)on there...nothing to worry about,I'd say...

This new CD has more roots well written traditional country songs, steel & fiddle, piano & lead guitar. Let's hear it for King George!
I recommend it!  Walmart has it for $9.72

I picked up this CD this morning, and I agree that it is very good. It has more of a classic country sound than anything he's put out in awhile. Plus, it has 15 songs on it, which is more than average for new albums. The album includes "She Told Me So", which is a George Jones song from the 1970s. Truth be told, it is probably my favorite off the CD, but the first single, "Give It Away", is pretty good, too.

I just picked this up today, what a great cd! How does he decide on a set list? He could do this whole album. I see some old familiar songwriters like Dean Dillon (Marina Del Ray), for one. The music is top notch, of course. I like how the credits are there for each song.

Amazon.com doesn't have sound samples (yet?) but Barnes and Noble does and it sounds pretty great!

Hey PF, great work on the CD.
"She Told Me So" is such an appropriate tune for this point in my tenure... I just can't believe they stuck an organ in the tune, let it tail your fill, and then didn't give you the steel break in the middle.
