How many of you have seen the new model Regal resophonic guitar? It is called "The Black Lightening". Is really is a sharp looking guitar. It comes from the factory already equipped with a Quarterman cone,a bone nut & maple saddle. All the dimensions for the guitar were taken from a classic original 1930's Regal Dobro.
I just ordered one for under $500.00. Hope it sounds as good as it looks.

I've seen one in a store and played it. I think for the price you'll be very pleased. It has a real Quarterman cone and sounds much better than other Regals I've played.
They look really nice, too!

If anybody else wants one of these, let me know. I'm a dealer for them. I was just talking to my rep about those guitars this morning.

Gary,
Sure wished I'd have known you were a dealer. I would have rather given you the business.

Anyone know how to get word back to the company that makes these, that there may be a small market for 7 and 8 string models? I don't know if it's enough of a demand for them to produce one, but I'd sure like to see a good 8 string resonator model offered for under a grand (but with a wider neck to accommodate it...not simply cramming two more strings on the same six string neck)....

Give it a shot -- Regals are imported by Saga Music.

I've seen some threads on various reso sites about these having glue separation problems, so I guess I'd look over one very carefully. I tried one in a store a short time ago and it seemed like a very fine axe for the $.

Are these made the same size as thier RD-75?
They claim this is made to the same specs as a 1930 somethig model as well.I have a RD-75
and its a nice axe for the money.Even better since I changed the cone and spider to the Quaterman. The Black Lightning is a sharp looking resonater IMHO..
