The July edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" is up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week over and over, for the entire month.
The theme for this month, July (the month of her birth) is a tribute to the great Cindy Walker, whom we lost earlier this year. You will hear Cindy’s songs by Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys, brothers Johnnie Lee and Billy Jack Wills and their bands as well as so many of the Western Swing greats of the past and present. From Western Swing history you can enjoy Leon McAuliffe fronting the Original Texas Playboys, Jimmy Wakely, Johnny Gimble and the Texas Swing Pioneers and so many other historic names. You can also enjoy New York’s Texas Panhandle Band under the Direction of Hank Pell from the 1980s and the National Band of Texas, the River Road Boys. Enjoy the legendary Rowe Brothers band, Hoot Hester, the very talented Stephanie Davis, Joe Paul Nichols, Don Edwards and so many others. We can also enjoy former Texas Playboys Vance Terry with Jimmie Rivers & the Cherokees, Jerry “Hambone” Cunningham and the great Leon Rausch.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site www.swinginwest.com
The show starts following a few second station spot that can be swiped through on your real player device if you prefer.
Thank You!

Mike, as always I'll be listening. I am pleased that you are playing the Panhandle Band with the fine music of Hank Pell and the fellows.
Best to you

Mike,
I just listened to the web stream of this tribute show...it is FANTASTIC!
Can you provide a "play list" from this stream? Artists and albums?
That first tune you kicked off the show with...did Cindy Walker write "Let Me Go Home Whisky"?
Thanks for an awesome show!
Cheers!

Mark,
Thanks so very much for your comments on my twangtown show for this month. Your comments are really appreciated.
I have a play list up on my web site in the "Show" section on the bottom of the listings of the past few shows. Just click! If you have any questions therefrom please do feel free to e-mail me any time. As far as "Let Me Go Home Whiskey" Cindy did not write that one but Hambone compiled that with her "It's the Bottle Talking." Asleep at the Wheel had recorded that song in the mid 1970s and their recording gives composer credit to Henry Shifts.
Thanks again!

Mike,
That medly of It's The Bottle Talking and Let Me Go Home Whisky is pretty sweet. I've got to get a copy of that one!
Also...I love that version of "It's all your fault" with Vance Terry and Jimmy Rivers....smoking hot!
Cheers!

Mark,
I will e-mail you the information about both albums although Hambone's is from an old cassette and probably no longer available but you never know.
Later, amigo!
