Do your cats have any favorite music? I am a big cats lover and have three cats. If they do not like the music I am listening to, I will immediately use a headphone. If they are sleeping on my steel, I will wait to play the steel until they wake up. If they liked Teisco sound better than Fender, I would buy more Teiscos right away. Anyway I do not think they are crazy about music, but I think they like a few of my CD collections. I believe my cats favorite music (album) is
David Cullen gOne Night One Guitarh
When I play this CD, they stop demanding and mewing, and never want to go outside. So, May I ask what your cats favorite music is? Your cats, not yours, please. Thank you so much in advance.

I had a cat who loved it when I picked "Blackbird" on the flattop. Without a doubt, every time, she'd come over and rub against me and lie down in front of me when I started picking that melody. It becam a trick to show guests. |

Well ---Everytime I sit behind my steel ---my cat goes to the sunroom on the other side of the house as far away as she can go ....This tells you how I play .
But fire up the stereo and she is right there on "her" chair loving everybit of the music and her head just a bobbing.
Cute little creatures aren't they?!

My current cat seems pretty oblivious to music. But Missy does love to settle in on a soft pillow on my pack-a-seat whenever my wife or I work a while at the computer in the studio. She gives two paws up to Sho-Bud seats. "She" being the cat, not the wife!

A musician in an industrial band called Skinny Puppy did a solo album called "Music for Cats"- and that is exactly what it is. He took patterns and sounds that elicited responses from his cats and made a record of it. His name is Cevin Key. Be warned though, YOU won't like it. I love his music and this record is totally unlistenable.
Leave the house, turn it on and let the kitties have their fun! |

I have two cats. One of them is almost as smart as a doorknob. But not quite. Yet I don't quite buy into the stupidity defense when trying to explain how & why he charged full speed from the other end of the room and ran head first into the pedal rods of my steel. Put a good bend into one of them. I put a good bend into him.

My cat likes to lay in front of the pedal bar when I play. I have a distant cousin that loves sheep, I think he gets out in a couple more years.

Mine knows how to keep me away from the piano. She tolerates my lap steel and guitar playing though.....

My cat Pandit will actually take a twang or two on the pedal steel or a guitar on a stand when he's in a brotherly frame of mind. Since he more-or-less grew up curled up on the head of my bed when I was listening to Indian music or classical violin, he has a marked fondness for those - in fact he comes running up and plops down when he hears some Indrajit Banerjee or Bach's partitas (He doesn't curl so good anymore now that he's three feet long and 17 lbs.) He does have a marked dislike for music with drummers bashing and crashing away incessantly on cymbals - smart cat. |

One of my cats, Hu, couldn't care less about music. The other cat, Mao, loves it when I play unplugged bottleneck! But plug into an amp, and they both hide! |

Cats harbor an amazing amount of hatred. They benefit from soft music like Yanni or Kenny G. I bet the lady who owns that cat listens to speed metal. |

I think my cats Dillweed and Tinkerbell both love country music. Tinkerbell is always laying on the armrest of our couch while I'm watching country music videos. Dillweed and Tinkerbell both mark my steel, so I think they love my steel and sometimes they will be asleep on my bed and my steel playin' don't bother them one bit, so I think they love the sound of my steel. I had a cat one time who ran out of my room every time I played my acoustic guitar. It turned out she didn't like my guitar playing-haha, so I think my cats both love country music.
