i just wanted to tell everyone about these great dobros. i spent several hours playing them at the wintergrass festival last weekend. they are made in canada and feature large and regular body depths, soundpost construction and a nice selection of solid woods and since they're kind of new kids on the block i think the wait time on a custom guitar isn't up to 4 years yet!
also very nice guys to chat with and very reasonable prices. no, i don't work for the company, but i do like seeing good guitars that you can get without paying 5000 bucks and waiting for years to get one! they have a website at rayco.ca.

I agree totally. There was a beautiful maple Rayco at a local music store for a while. I mean beautiful. It was also the best sounding dobro I've ever heard live. Not the loudest (not quiet either), but the richest tone.

A great guitar (and only $2500 Canadian! ).

To add to the last message: the guitar I played is the one in the top picture of the Rayco website "Gallery" page, at the far left. There's also a picture of it under construction at the far right on the "Materials" page.
