A few years ago, Dr. Ish Stagner put together a 20+ min. video documentary about the Moe family, which I believe was the one ever produced and is almost impossible to acquire. Talking to him last night shed a new and more positive light towards someday seeing an even better version. In the last few years, the Moe family's decades of intiguing exploits have become know to more producers around the world, and an extensive print and video catalog is becoming available. PBS, German TV, Bob Brozman, and others have compiled various material, which Dr. Stagner sez they are in the process of compilling much of to add to the existing doc. This should flesh it out considerably, and hopefully, it won't take too long before it's accessable. Until then, here's a couple of sites concerning the Moe's to enjoy.

Sure hope that documentary is produced very SOON for Tau's sake ! The Family has a lot of material, souveniers, etc., of a truly remarkable "Trapp Family" style of adventures throughout WW2 hot spots and extreme danger. He is an unsung "hero" in more ways than one. His story deserves to be told while he is still amongst us. |

I wuz recently contacted by Roger Smith of www.horserockrecords.com that put out the 'Legends of the Incredible Steel Guitar' CD, along with other fine 'roots music' products, and he's interested in marketing the Moe video/bio. I gave him Dr. Ishmael Stagner's E#, so there may be something positive in the works if they are able to join forces. Anyone who thinks they can assist in any way towards this, can reach Roger at rsmith@horserockrecords.com or 310 497 1326, or Dr. Stagner at istagner11@aol.com |
