That's right, Uddercream--an unscented cream available in tubes (keep one in your case or gear bag) or jars available at Walmart or www.uddercream.com.
I noticed that sometimes I just had a heck of a time holding on to that slippery bullet bar. Finally, I observed it was worse after washing the dishes. In a moment of brilliance (yeah, right), I deduced that all the oils had been washed from my hands, which made gripping the steel difficult.
Uddercream is cheap, has no fragrance, and works like a charm. You might find other uses for it too, if you get my drift.
But seriously folks, it works.

Just a comment from "down on the farm":
If your day job or whatever causes you to get a lot of cuts on your hands, cracked skin, chapped skin, or damaged cuticles, this product (or Bovacream, or Bag Balm) will help heal 'em up quickly. The main ingredient seems to be lanolin in a waterproof base. Hey, if it works good and it's cheap, by all means use it. Uddercream and Bovacream are steeler-friendly; Bag Balm is greasier and smellier and would probably make it a bit difficult to hold onto your bar.
Well, by golly it's chore time. Gotta go get the cows in.

| What's the point of living in a city of four million people if you can't walk into the neighborhood hardware store and get a tube of udder cream? Sheesh, I feel so urban all of a sudden. Thanks for the tip, though, Bob. I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm out past the city limits. |

| I have forced air heat in my house as well as a wood burning air tight stove..Needless to say the air is a lot drier during the Winter, especially this bear of a Winter ...This sounds like something good for the hang nails I've been getting so many of ...I tried one cream that didn't work all that well...Now I'm gonna try the udder cream !!..If one don't work, the udder one will !!....Thanks, Jim |

Unfortunately it isn't good if you double on bass. It softens tha callouses to much. But platex living gloves or the like also have the same effect.

| Out where I come from, I can't find the stuff. Should I buy a cow? That sounds like udder nonsense. Try a grooved bar from Carter. They look like they'd work, but are MOO expensive than lotions. |

Back when I first got out of college in Michigan I lived on a Farm commune for a while. The girls made noises about not wanting to use "Udder Cream" for some reason or other- so we pasted a new sticker on the bottle labeling it "French Whore Hand Juice"- no more complaints...
