Well we may have to "settle" for Cindy Cashdollar.
She never have I heard a bad word about her,
she is knowlegable about the history and the music,
and acknowleged as a fine player by certain old timers
who still got chops.

And for an impaired, but still steeling with a fire against all odds person,
we can wait for Johnathan Candler to grow into the roll.

I heard Al Brisco play in Drogheda, and talked with him several times. Yeah he was a good choice.

So are there:
more Canadians who think they are foreigners in the USA,
than Americans who think they are foreigners in Canada?

Well in any case the board is international now.

It may be time to look internationally for an inductee....
Another vote for Gordon Huntley, the seminal exponent of Day copedent
in England and environs.

Hi to all,

Thanks for the kind words of endorsement regarding being asked to sit on the HOF committee. It is indeed an honour to have been considered!

I will try my best to represent the position with integrity & honest feelings, for the betterment of the steel guitar community.
Best Wishes & Merry Christmas to all.

Fierce competition to get in the HOF??

Two of the greatest players to ever sit behind the instrument are kept out of the HOF. You got all this competition to induct players nowhere near as great---this is what the HOF is about? About once or twice a year on this forum this fact is pointed out and hashed and rehashed.

Maybe sometime in the future when there is a complete changeover in the makeup of the group that runs this, there will be men on the committee that have no axes to grind and no jealousy and all the other crap that they now bring to the table to keep players out of the HOF that they don't personally want in.

Till then, it is a shallow entity as far as I am concerned and needs to be continually reminded of it until it rights this obvious wrong.

If filling the committee with one armed whatevers and asians and room temp. IQ genetic drift types will provide a group that will vote on players based solely on their abilities and contribution to the instrument-----then it will be a better committee than has been there in the past as far as I can see.

Well I suppose it will all shake out, and it will be interesting to have my original post to refer to in the next year or so. No human process is perfect, but that only licenses so much.

Somehow that's excluding less and less people in this world of "Instant Biographies"...

I can think of at least one guy I could nominate just by what he writes about himself in his website. Maybe even two.

Oh, The minorities thing was a trick.

Hello... Steel Players are a minority.

I don't understand this Jewish/Christian dichotomy. Jesus of Nazareth was Jewish. My friend, Adam David Goldberg, is a Baptist. It's time to get over it.

I would love to see a woman on the board. Cindy Cashdollar is a fine player, and would certainly improve the visual appeal of the present HOF outfit.
