Can anyone please give me an idea of what the approx weight of a 10 string lap steel is. In particular, the Derby 10 string.
Thanks
Howard.

Can anyone ask Billy Robinson in Nashville?
He's got one of those very same, does he not?

Thanks for trying Ray. No takers yet but if anyone can even give a calculated guess on not just the Derby but any 10 string lap, it would help .
Regards
Howard

A regular Wood body guitar would weigh in at around5-6 lbs. My new BAKELITE that I am building weighs in at around 9 lbs. Actually my new "Ricky" weighs about the same as my original 7 string Ricky. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works

My new "Bakelite" is a Taper Body with 1" thick solid Bakelite. I Use a George L Pickup and the people that have tried it really liked the sound. I believe I have retained the old RICKY sound and most think even more "Cleaner". It weighs around 9 lb.The design is made to be a 6-7-8or 10 string model. You can have any color so long as it is BLACK. ED
