I'm in need of the chord progression to this song. Normally I can hear them, but this one has me stymied. I hope there's someone out there with a better ear. Baker

Here's the sheet music, but I couldn't find the chords.

You know, that songs seems like it would be pretty easy, doesn't it? After looking it up, maybe my ear isn't as good as I thought it was either.

Anyway, here's a link to a finger picking style, and I hope you like it!

Brad:

I just checked out your link and it's stunning! Did you check out image 7?

Darkey songs? That is just unbelieveable!

Wow
Brad, the pics of the sheet music are stunning.
My mother and grandmother would sing this song on car trips...long time ago.

Thanks

Ron

The problem I've had with the song, is that of the many versions I've heard, there is a fair amount of variation with the chord structure. On the "Hi-falootin" part some go to a minor chord, and others don't. I ended up picking a version I liked (Tune Wranglers), and working off of that--but, it was hard to hear the chords. I had the Chimpmunks version when I was a kid (and still do), and think it may be the first record I ever had?
