GAD aeh-150 1936 was poorly described on ebay. A close inspection of pics showed a 7-string with an extra key added badly to make it an 8-string. It looked like a real gibson 8 bridge, guitar had a cracked back and non-stock knobs. sold for $683!

I'd be pissed if i bought it.

CHUCK ...another example of butchering a fine instrument. I gotta wonder what possesses people to ruin a classic. It's like doing "paint-by-number" over a Rembrandt !

George,

I agree totally, mostly I was upset by the sellers aparent sketchy description and bad pics to get a high price by the unsuspecting buyer.

I must admit I bought one of these guitars in a basket, it was missing all hardware and wiring except the bridge, had the top ssplit off.

Since I own a couple of CC gibsons, I knew I wasnt likely to find original parts, so I asked myself what on these guitars isn't great? So I put real tuners on it, Grovers a hipshot nut and replated the badly corroded bridge in gold. But I surly never whacked any new holes in it and I never would have done this stuff, other than real parts weren't available and I wanted a good daily player w personality.
